ALREADY STARTED THE REGISTRATION OF PARTICIPANTS IN SECOND INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR YOUNG OPERA SINGERS „ELENA NIKOLAI“

Sign up to participate in SECOND INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR YOUNG OPERA SINGERS „ELENA NICOLAI“ PANAGYURISHTE` 2014

 Panagyurishte municipality and the Organizing Committee of the International Competition for Young Opera Singers „Elena Nikolai“ for the second consecutive year invite young opera singers from all over the world to express their talent in a noble contest in front of a prestige jury.

Venue: Theatre Home monument, PANAGYURISHTE

Dates of conduct: Oct 30 – November 1, 2014

Participants: young opera singers – 23 years /age/ to 33 /age-including/

Fee: 30 lev

The competition will be organized by the type of the voices of the participants and according to the lot that will be drawn the night before the competition, during the official press conference in the session hall of the Municipality Panagyurishte.

In the FIRST ROUND the singers will perform an aria with kabaleta (optional) and the aria from opera of Mozart, Handel, Gluck, Haydn and composers of the same era have to be performed.

In the SECOND ROUND candidates will perform an aria from Vincenzo Bellini operas, Gaetano Donizetti, Giuseppe Verdi, Francesco Cilea, Umberto Giordano, Georges Bizet, Jules Massenet, Giacomo Puccini, Ruggero Leoncavallo, Pietro Mascagni, etc. /composers – representatives of Romanticism and Verismo/, another aria from contemporary composer and song or third aria – by Bulgarian composer.

All works are performed in the original language, with piano accompaniment.

Each participant must provide the musical material and its application for participation to describe the arias, which will appear in the competition and preferred aria to participate in the Gala Concert.

The organizers provide pianist-accompanist.

Contestants are allowed to sing with accompanist in his personal choice.

First Prize – 1500 lev
Second prize – 1000 lev
Third prize – 800 Levs

Men:

First Prize – 1500 lev
Second prize – 1000 lev
Third prize – 800 Levs
Special Award „Elena Nicolai“ – 1500 lev

Special prize for best young artist – 500 Levs

Special Audience Award for the performance of an aria or song from Bulgarian composer – 500 Levs

The deadline for submitting applications to participate in October 19 / Sunday /.

IMPORTANT for the applicants laureates of the contest! The organizers take payment of two nights – October 31 and November 1, 2014.

The second International Competition for Young Opera Singers „Elena Nikolai“ – Panagyurishte ’2014 will be held on 30 and 31-st of October 2014 in Panagyurishte. The Gala-Concert of the winners will be on 1-st of November, in theater “House-Memorial”, with special participation of the orchestra of the State opera Plovdiv (Държавна опера Пловдив)...
